Athena’s point of view. Nick Grimm.

I’ve been watching Odysseus for a while. His journey has been amazing so far! I think that he may just be my favorite mortal. I feel bad for him though. His journey has been difficult. First, he had fought in the war. Then, he had to try to get home, and that curse didn’t help! Odysseus is an amazing leader, but he turned away for just a few hours and his men been went and got them all cursed to die! Poor Odysseus had to go through losing all his friends, all his war buddies. The people he fought next to for ten years, all of them gone. But, sadly, Odysseus hasn’t always been the best person or leader. For example, when he was leaving the Cyclops’ cave and started to boast. Also, when Odysseus raided the Cicones. They killed many innocent people, and I personally think that his men got what they deserved. Those are some of the few situations where I was ashamed of Odysseus. But, I don’t know what it was, but eventually I started to care a lot about Odysseus. I thought about all he has been through. That is why I decided to help him and his son get ‘rid’ of the suitors. I usually don’t take sides, but I knew that I wanted to make sure Odysseus would win. So, I disguised Odysseus as a begger. Then, I had Odysseus go into his castle and see all the suitors. I had Odysseus’ son put all the weapons away in a vault. I saw that Odysseus’ wife didn’t like the suitors there, also. She would constantly delay them. But one day, she set up an archery challenge that only Odysseus was able to do. Odysseus got up, still disguised as a begger, and was the only one able to do the challenge. He then attacked the suitors. They had no weapons since they were all put away, and they panicked. Odysseus told them that he was going to kill all of them. And he did. Odysseus tossed all the bodies into a massive pile. Then, Odysseus was finally home, and his journey over.
